The Hilo Woman’s Club recently hosted a luncheon to honor its college scholarship recipients. This year’s recipients — Alexus Navor, Chrisovolandou Gronowski and Paul Gerard — are attending local colleges.
Funds for the scholarships are collected through a variety of fundraising endeavors spearheaded by club members throughout the year.
“We are very fortunate as a Club to once again present three $1,000 scholarships to these very deserving students. It is moments like these that give assurance that our fundraising efforts are so worth it. Our results attest to this every time we are able to do and give a little more in our community,” said Hilo Woman’s Club President Beverly Heikes.
The club welcomes new members to join them in achieving their goals of providing various scholarships and community contributions, in keeping with the traditions of the 93-year-old organization. The HWC Clubhouse is at 7 Lele St., Hilo. For more information, call 935-9838.
